Alan McCarthy thanked staff for their huge commitment and dedication to the council both on behalf of the council and local residents. Staff were presented with a certificate and a limited edition gift, specially commissioned from local artists. Staff were able to chose from:

  • a white ‘flock’ design ceramic platter that forms part of a limited edition, each one numbered and signed by the designer, Andrew Tanner
  • a framed print of the glow project at the Royal Pavillion. All prints are individually numbered and signed by artists Nathalie Vin and Denise Felkin
  • a framed black and white print of the west pier. All prints will be numbered and signed by photographer Nigel Swallow.

The ceremony was closed by Alan McCarthy who emphasised that staff are the council’s most valuable resource and that this ceremony was a great opportunity to demonstrate how much the council values everyone’s hard work.
